What do you want from your
acting course?
Brave Studios is an actors' training studio based
in Melbourne, Australia. Brave is now in it's 7th year of offering
innovative and practical courses in the art of acting for the
camera, presentation, voiceover and auditioning.
Brave Studios only employ teachers of the highest quality who
have extensive industry experience as actors, directors, voice
teachers and casting directors to ensure that students receive
a broad range of expertise and industry knowledge as part of
their learning. The courses are designed to give students practical
skills and the 'know how' to get started in the industry or to
take on more diverse and challenging roles. In order to ensure you get the best out of each
course - class sizes are kept small (a maximum of 12 in most
classes and 8 in others)
Brave's aim is to develop as
a training ground and to foster and develop new and emerging
talent in the art of acting for the camera but that will also
help to guide you in a direction that will capitalize on your
strengths.
The courses are designed by
Casting Director Maria Efthymiopoulos who has over 15 years of
experience as a casting director in Melbourne. Maria currently
runs 2 Divas Casting - a casting consultancy which is involved
in casting for film, television and commercials. Maria was also
one of the co-founders of Chameleon Casting and over the years
Maria has worked with and auditioned thousands of well-known
actors including Holly Valance, Rove McManus, Frances O'Connor,
Pia Miranda, Brooke Satchwell, Kick Gurry and Jane Allsop.
Maria has extensive knowledge
of the acting and TV industries and an eye for being able to
spot and develop talent. "I feel that I am in a great position
to understand what casting directors and directors want to see
and also what the gaps are that exist in the training available
to actors in Melbourne. I also love to work closely with actors
in terms of finding the best direction for them as an actor or
artist".
Brave Studios also has a strong
personal development angle. "Our philosophy is to create
an atmosphere of trust and support so that students feel free
to explore and push their boundaries in order to develop themselves
both personally and professionally. It definitely takes courage
to go for what you want in life and I believe these courses will
help to inspire students to follow and act on their dreams."
