Advanced - A professional
level course - 6 weeks
This advanced course further develops your understanding of the craft of acting, and picks up where the intermediate course leaves off.
The focus of the course will be on the craft of acting (furthering your understanding of techniques introduced in the beginner or intermediate classes), and also on scene studies (where you will be partnered up and challenged to present a scene to the class every fortnight).
The course will emphasize the rehearsal process as well as camera technique. You will learn how to do a full voice workout which will support the actor in fundamental voice training. You will work on scenes from screenplay that you will be asked to read before the course begins. You will walk away with scenes on tape that can possibly be used as part of your show reel.
Pre-requisites:
This course is designed specifically for actors who have prior studies in the craft of acting or have working experience or have studied with Nadia in the intermediate course. If you have not studied with Nadia prior to application for this course please send along CV stating your training and experience.

Director:
Nadia Townsend has been working as an actress
in Australian film television and theatre for the past 15 years. Her most
recent television role being, detective Allie Kingston on City Homicide.
Nadia's other television credits include, Fireflies, Headland, Headstart,
SeaPatrol, Chandon Pictures. Her film roles include, Knowing, Zombie
Monologues, Puppy and Danny Deckchair. Nadia began her career by studying
at Atlantic Theatre Company in New York, she came home to set up her own theatre
company and produced, acted and directed a decade worth of plays. Nadia
then went on to study voice with the Roy Hart school in France and continues
her studies to this day with the worlds best practitioners, such as Larry Moss,
Ivana Chubbuck and Kim Krejus. Nadia is highly dedicated to the craft of
acting and passionate about communicating her understanding of it through
teaching.
