A series of 1 Day Courses

These workshop will give participants an opportunity to develop practical skills and valuable insights into the film and TV industries whilst working with some of Autralia' s best known casting directors. Courses will cover the following: how to approach the script, improvisation, working with directors and casting directors, the purpose of the screentest and how to market yourself as an actor.

Thea McLeod has spent the past few years casting in London and is currently the resident casting director for Neighbours. her credits include City Homicide, Underbelly Files: The Man who got away, Whatever happened to that guy, Naked in London (feature film), Summer Coda (feature film)

Alison Telford has been casting director at the ABC in Melbourne for 20 years. Her credits include the following ABC productions: Mercury, Raw FM, Simone de Beauvoir's babies, Queen Kat, Carmel and St Jude, Strange Fits of Passion (Feature film), Sea change series 1-3, Something in the Air series 1 - 2, Kath and Kim series 1 - 3 and telemovie, Secret bridesmaids business (telemovie), Producer, MDA series 1 - 3, Welcher and Welcher, The Forest, Australian of the Year, Curtin - before Dawn, Bastard Boys, Summer Heights High, The Librarians series 1 -3, East of Everything series 1 - 2, Bed of Roses series 1 - 3, Sleuth 101, John Safran - Race Relations, and Angry Boys for HBO/BBC.

Lou Mitchell has worked in casting for 22 years, starting at Crawfords under the training of Graeme Moore and Jane Pontifex. She then commenced work for Maura Fay twenty years ago where she has worked on all aspect of shows, casting extras bit parts leads, dailies and semi regular roles. Her credits include: The Man From Snowy River series 1 - 4, Law of The Land series 1 - 2, Ponderosa (US Television series), Saddle Club series 1 - 3, Gueneviere Jones, Little Oberon, The Coast, That Eye...The Sky, Prey, Mission Impossible TV series US television, Snake Tales and Kick. She has also cast for several US pilots ABC, NBC. Lou recently worked on series 3 of City Homicide, Neighbours and Conspiracy 360. She is currently working on an Australian TV project which we cannot yet name.
